Not Funny

It is so cold outside it's not even funny. I'm outside for like 3 minutes and I can't feel my fingers! I literally reach inside my pocket for my keys and have no idea what's going on in there. And yes I had really thick gloves on. So I'm stuck inside on this Friday night after a long day at work. You know, holding a 10 pound baby for two hours is a hard thing to do. Way to go all you Mom's out there. You deserve a whole Mother's Month, not just a day.
Speakibng of awesome mom's, my amazing mother gave this book to me for Christmas and I think that I'm going to read the rest of the night. I love this book!

One of my favorite quotes from it so far is this one.

"There are no 'if's' in God's world. And no safer places than other places. The center of His will is our only safety- Let us pray that we may always know it."

Corrie's sister said this to her after a series of bombs were dropped in Holland near their home, and Corrie found a piece of shrapnel which had fallen on her pillow just after leaving her bed. Barely missing her own head. Anyway, this women is amazing and this book is so great and has already given me so much insight to the war and the situation that good christian people were in during those hard times. If you have the chance, pick it up and read it.

I guess that's all for tonight. Have a happy Sunday!

20 is going to be a great year!

What a crazy birthday!
I was going going going all day long, and I love it! So it kind of started on Sunday night when me, Drew, Haley, Anna, and Mary all went to Dennis's for dinner. Haley made me TWO cakes and Dennis made lasagna. I was sure satisfied, wouldn't you be?? But my actual day of birth went like this.
It started with ear training, then a test in Harmony (100%), then my craig's list bike arrived! (shiny and purple and awesome! Thanks Mom and Dad) Then I had arranging and songwriting, then Haley, Drew and I headed to...

...for dinner (beef and broccoli). And to seal it off we watched G.I. Jo (joe?). Really good movie, surprisingly.

And aaaaalllllll day I was getting texts from pretty much my whole world. Sorry if you feel bad that I didn't text or call you back (that means you Rachel, I'll call tomorrow) but please know that they got me through the boring classes. Vibrate mode is just so genius.

Here's a picture of my bike...

just kidding. My camera was out of battery when I went to take a picture. So I also missed out on getting pictures of anything today including dinner with Haley and Drew. Lame I know. My 20th birthday is completely unphotographed. wow tttwwwweeeeenty.

I've survived 20 years in this world, but even more impressive I survived riding down Mass Ave. on a bike! Woo! starting the new decade off right:)

Week 1

I've been here a week and a day already and I am loving it! School has been great and I love my room mates and my apartment. I have 8 classes this semester! Over doing it? I guess we'll find out.

This is my street.

Since monday was a holiday we didn't have school but I decided I wasn't going to be lazy and I was going to start the semester with a trip to the gym! I was so pumped, even after I walked outside and saw the snow, ice, and rain. "No matter!" says I. "I will press forward with all my might and reap the rewards!" So a normal 15 minute walk to the gym turned into 25 minutes plow to the gym. But with spirits high I finally made it and enjoyed my work out.

This is my living room. Not too tidy when I took the picture. But probably as tidy as it's ever gonna get.

Outside our living room window. Ellen is such a great decorator.

Classes on Tuesday were good. My teachers are the coolest people ever and they love music and love teaching and it really shows.
Wednesday I started my new job! Of course I didn't know if I was for sure hired at the time, but I know now. So me and Haley headed off to beautiful Concord, Massachusetts where I will be nannying every Wednesday and Friday. I'm very excited to have a job, and especially one where I can spend so much time with my sister-in-law. Having two of us there really helps the days go by way faster.

So here are some pictures of my school and surrounding areas. I love my new camera, hopefully I can learn to use it more efficiently.

This is my building.

New part of the school. I haven't been inside yet but it's really close to my house and I like it there.
